In the 2011-12 club year, we introduced a new 3-level system for In-club competition. The objective was to provide an opportunity for all Members to compete with confidence by entering at a level best suited to their experience. All members who competed in 2011-12 were assigned to one of 3 levels for the year. At the end of the year, the top 3 members in levels 1 and 2 (by accumulated score) will move up to the next level.
All levels are open to all members. However, once a member has competed in level 2 or 3, they may not later compete at a lower level. NOTE: levels do not apply to inter-club competitions.
Members who are beginners to photography and/or camera club competitions start at Level 1.
Level 2 is an intermediate level for photographers who might have some experience with competitions but haven’t won year-end trophies or awards; who may have competed elsewhere and/or might sell or show their work
Level 3 members have competed extensively in GRIPS or elsewhere, may have won prizes, ribbons or awards, may be considered professional or semi-professional; possibly sell or exhibit their work; or have had photos published.
A member may compete at a higher level than the point system determines, but not a lower level.
If you are entering GRIPS competitions in 2016-17 and did not enter in 2015-16, please complete the form below.
