The first round of competition was judged on November 18, 2009 and all the images and awards were presented at our club meeting on November 23. There were 152 digital submissions and 21 entries in the Print Competition. Ribbons were awarded as follows:
- Score of 22-23 points: Honourable Mention
- Score of 24-25 points: Award of Merit
- Score of 26-27 points: Award of Excellence
- Score of 28-30 points: Award of Distinction
